Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared today that the BJP will not succeed in its attempt to create government in Odisha, just as it did not succeed in Karnataka, Telangana, or Himachal Pradesh. In addition, Patnaik denounced the use of derogatory language and fabrications during party candidate campaigns.
“Bharatiya Janata Party had said that they would form the government in Karnataka, but they failed. They had also said the same in Telangana and failed. They said the same in Himachal Pradesh and failed. I am certain that the same repetition will continue in this election in our State,” Patnaik said in a video message.
The chief minister further added that when visiting Odisha as a guest, members of the Union Cabinet and chief ministers should refrain from using derogatory language because it is not well-liked by the populace. The chief minister of Odisha prayed to Lord Jagannath for wisdom.
“Senior BJP leaders such as Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers visit Odisha as guests. We expect them not to use poor language and make false allegations. This is not appreciated by the people of our State. I pray to Lord Jagannath that better sense prevails in them,” Patnaik added.
The Chief Minister’s statement came in the backdrop of various top BJP leaders’ assertion of forming government in Odisha and the way they criticised the BJD leaders during election campaigning.
