Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the ultra-modern mega Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) dairy plant at Arlo in Cuttack district on November 10.
According to the official reports, the plant has been set up by the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department, Odisha government at a cost of Rs 263 crore. It is one of the biggest dairy plants in the State which has the capacity to process around five lakh litre milk per day. Further, the setup is equipped with modern facilities the automatic plant will produce various high-quality dairy products like paneer, cheese, butter, ghee, milk powder and other dairy products from around two lakh litres of milk on a daily basis.
CM Patnaik during the inauguration ceremony stated that the OMFED plant will help millions of milk producers by enhancing their income capacity. OMFED has been established with an aim to protect the farmers’ interests in the state. Also, the plant will also help the consumer to get the various dairy products at a cheaper price.
He further added that Omfed belongs to our farmers and is the contribution of over three lakh people of the community. It was established with an aim to protect the farmers’ interests and the state Government always stands with them. The plant will help millions of milk producers and enhance their income capacity.
