Neha Tekwani has been awarded the India’s Top Inspiring Women in the field of Literature declared by National Book of Records. She is preparing for P.HD in Business Administration. Let us know more about her in this Interview.
Q1) When did you set your first foot in the field of writing?
Ans. On 28th November, 2014 as the sun rose, an idea emerged from my heart to pour out the feelings and emotions collected throughout my childhood and teen-life. As I jotted down the words and phrases, I ended up with a one shot which was the begining of my chaotic yet extremely extraordinary journey in the mystical realm of writing.
Q2) As an author do you feel that the reading habit of the Youth has decreased ?If yes ,what are the reasons ?
Ans. As per my readership my maximum readers are youth or teens who are about to step into their youths. So, I wouldn’t really say that the reading habit has decreased but maybe, there is a need for more enthralling and hooking books to be written to enhance the art of mass reading. Each person has a free will to decide what hobby interests them and which one encourages them to lead a life of higher purpose. Reading certainly is bound to be a choice not a compulsion.
Q3) You are preparing for P.HD , you have also talked about your several hobbies like playing Guitar ,baking etc. How do you strike a balance between all these activities ?
Ans. Being in the publishing industry has always kept me on my toes but it inspired the idea in me that when you’re a creative then you must flow like a river and allow life to lead you. I don’t really try hard to strike work-life balance, it just finds me at odd hours when I am in the most errenous hours of writing.
As we are talking about balance, I’d like to add that I couldn’t find ever find the perfect pH balance in my chemistry class; however, I claimed my spot in the most mischievous yet strikingly arduous things that just work themselves out.
Q4)You are also active and you maintain a beautiful feed in Instagram . What motivated you to start blogging ?

Ans. Honestly, before 2019 I was merely an author who posted her books but never promoted it; hence the reach was only limited to the digital platforms. As I collaborated with traditional publishers, I realized the business demands larger than life marketing and advertising as well not just fetching out books from my burning cauldron. My readers must get a chance to connect with me personally as well and share their reading experiences, something they can’t state in their book reviews, something they feel is too personal, they can tell me in my DM. Further, they can have a glance at my life beyond authorpreneurship. My belief, “know thy author’s reading habits too,” compelled me to be an active blogger.
Q4)You have received the Rabindranath Tagore literature Award. Do tell us about your experience.
Ans. Words can’t suffice my happiness and surprise to have received this honor from the literary council. As someone who was never considered worthy enough or I must specifically state “healthy” in school and college to be rewarded for efforts or participation, while surviving a serious chronic illness, every smallest victory heals my heart and conscience. It reassures me of my potential and growth as a human being and as a girl on this complex planet where people rely more on looks and stature and less on humanity. I believe attaining this glorious laureate has strengthen my wings to keep going on the righteous path of providing hope to the masses through my inspiring and entertaining books.
