The JSP Foundation is planning to broaden the operational scope of its Mission Zero Hunger programme as part of its commitment to the goal of a Hunger-Free India. Shri Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), had introduced a private bill in the Lok Sabha to end hunger in the nation.
Over 50 Lakh meals are delivered annually across India under the direction of Smt. Shallu Jindal, the Hon’ble Chairperson of JSP Foundation, the humanitarian arm of JSP, with the audacious goal of achieving 1 Crore meals annually. The mission has played a significant role in providing hot cooked meals and dry rations to the underprivileged in India by ensuring food security and basic nutrition for underprivileged and socially vulnerable communities, undernourished Children, pregnant and anaemic women, migrant labourers, and other marginalised groups.
Smt. Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of JSP Foundation, has announced her desire to undertake Mission Zero Hunger to abolish hunger and malnutrition in Odisha, Chhatisgarh, and Jharkhand in the first phase, then progressively throughout India.
In a strategic move to amplify its impact, JSP Foundation is embarking on the first phase of its expansion plan targeting all the districts in Odisha, with highest focus in Angul, Keonjhar, Sundergarh and in Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Khurda, Kendrapara, Cuttack and Dhenkanal and select districts in Chhattisgarh, namely, Raipur, Rajnandgaon and Durg and in Jharkhand namely Ramgarh and Ranchi districts.
JSP Foundation is actively looking for support in the form of collaboration with like-minded NGOs, Professional Agencies, and Civic Societies who share the vision of eliminating hunger from the ground up and have eligibility to partner under CSR programme in accordance with the guidelines of Ministry of Corp Affair, Govt. of India. The JSP foundation places a strong emphasis on the requirement that partners have the ability, qualified personnel, and most importantly, a caring spirit to meet the needs of the underprivileged and poor.
The JSP Foundation is of the opinion that cooperation and group efforts are crucial to achieve Mission Zero Hunger’s lofty goal. The foundation wants to have a substantial influence on the lives of the vulnerable and impoverished populations all around the country by working together with caring partners.
