The government has announced that the self-declaration forms for Covid vaccination that incoming international passengers had to fill out on the Air Suvidha portal will no longer be required. The decision will take effect at midnight.
“In light of sustained declining COVID-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in COVID-19 vaccination coverage both globally and in India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued revised ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals,” said a notice from the Civil Aviation Ministry this evening.
According to the aviation ministry, the submission of self-declaration forms on the online Air Suvidha portal has been discontinued due to revised health ministry guidelines. It did, however, include a statutory warning that the rule could be reviewed if necessary in light of the Covid situation.
For incoming international passengers, the form on the aviation ministry’s Air Suvidha portal was required. Passengers were required to declare their vaccination status, including the number of doses received and the dates received. This was consistent with the rules in most countries.
