Maharashtra reports more than 800 instances every day; only in Mumbai, there are 216 cases. In the midst of the nation’s rapidly increasing Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra on Thursday reported 803 new cases in the previous 24 hours, with 216 infections occurring in Mumbai alone. The state recorded a total of 569 infections on Wednesday. There are presently 3,987 active cases in the state.

According to the official website of the union health ministry, India reported 900 (20%) more Covid-19 cases on Thursday than the previous day with 5,335 new infections in the previous 24 hours. For the first time since September of last year, the number of infections has surpassed 5,000. The total number of active cases, 25,587, or 0.5% of all infections, was reported.
