Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja presided over a state-level preparatory meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan where plans were discussed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s September 17 visit to Bhubaneswar. At Janata Maidan, the PM will introduce the state government’s welfare program, “Subhadra.” The conference was attended by a number of high-ranking officials, including Khurdha Collector, Home Department Secretary Satyabrat Sahu, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, DGP Y.B. Khurania, BMC representatives, and others. The Women and Child Development Department’s Principal Secretary, Shubha Sharma, gave a briefing to the group on the launch preparations for the program.
The State administration is putting a lot of effort into getting ready for the event, which could attract a sizable audience. The Chief Secretary stressed departmental coordination while reviewing the arrangements. Law and order will be managed by the DGP and IGP, and other arrangements will be handled by the District Collector. The chief secretary gave the relevant agencies instructions to make sure there is a constant supply of electricity with extra generators, as well as security, a carcade, healthcare arrangements, drinking water supply, temporary housing for the PM, road maintenance, sanitation, and cleanliness.
Along the roadways were also instructions for disaster planning and barricading, as well as for mobile restrooms and bio-toilets, as well as LED lights at strategic locations for public sight. For the program’s live transmission, the media will receive a single feed system from the information and public relations department. For more details about the Prime Minister’s visit, the State Department of Home Affairs (Protocol) will open a control room. On September 17, the Prime Minister will land at Bhubaneswar Airport at 11:35, attend the event at Janata Maidan at 11:55, and then take a 3 p.m. flight back to New Delhi.
