Lingaraj Temple’s ‘Singhadwara’ (Lion gate) will soon get a coating of silver after a meeting with 4 nijogs of the temple, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner and the officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) was held.
According to the reports after Puri Srimandir, Lingaraj Temple’s ‘Singhadwara’ will be the next which will be coated of silver. The ‘Singhadwara’ of the temple was damaged during cyclone ‘Fani’ in 2019, which is being reconstructed by the ASI. After which the servitors of the temple have been demanding to replace the bronze coating of the wooden door with a silver coating, similar to that at Puri Srimandir.
But recently after the meeting, the ASI reportedly gave clearance to the long-standing proposal of the temple servitors.
