Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced that the state government will soon fill over 12,000 vacant positions in the Home Department to enhance law enforcement and public safety. This decision follows his recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, where they discussed various issues, including the implementation of new criminal laws and strategies to combat cybercrime.
The recruitment drive will address vacancies across several divisions within the Home Department. Specifically, 3,003 positions will be filled in the Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF), 3,000 in the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), 2,000 traffic personnel, 5,000 Home Guards, 267 in the Directorate of Public Prosecution, and 254 in the State Forensic Science Department.
In addition to addressing these vacancies, the state government plans to establish 20 cyber police stations and appoint a Crime Scene Officer in every police station to tackle the rising number of cybercrime cases. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to strengthen Odisha’s law enforcement capabilities and improve the overall justice delivery system.
The Union Home Minister has assured full support to the Odisha government in these endeavors, aiming to enhance the state’s law and order situation and ensure timely justice for its citizens.
