The National Road Safety Month has already begun in the State and Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi recently flagged off an awareness campaign in Bhubaneswar where strict rules and regulations will be followed.
Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi stated that every year the Road Safety Week is observed but this year this will be observed for a month. The Central and State Governments apprehended that notwithstanding rigorous traffic laws and the fine amount raised, the people are still not obeying it.
Sarangi further added – “We’ll be on our concerted efforts to reach out to the masses in large number within this month-long campaign for creating awareness on the road safety norms and traffic rules.”
Most of the road accident fatalities have been recorded of the Bike riders most. With the specific theme and various social organizations, the authority is coming out every day where voluntary organizations have been allotted a day for that purpose with a theme so that they organize different programs on the day.
“With the cooperation of the general public we’ll try to create more awareness on road safety,” he said.
Every year the National Road Safety program is observed and this year it will be observed for a month starting from 18th January to 17th February. The main purpose of this awareness campaign is to create awareness about road safety and also to decrease road accidents.
