On a mission to offer inclusive education

Mr.Jyoti Ranjan Tripathy - Founder & Chairman

Here is an inspiring story of an extraordinary teacher who is an IITIAN has left an ambitious life  after having worked in various MNCs just to chase his dreams. He strongly believes that education is only weapon to transform the societies at large, henceforth to lead the mission  changing the life of ordinary students he  dedicated his life to teach over three decades at the  expenses of his  privileged life.

Q1.You are a true educational  stalwart in the State of Odisha spanning over decades of teaching experience as a result of that there are ten of thousands students succeeded in their career ,Can you please shed light on you empathetic service to the Nation building?

Teaching taught me to live, and I live for it. I had started teaching when Odia students were afraid to appear in IIT exams. I can proudly say that till today I have produced  around 2500 Odia IITians.. I always love to guide academically and economically weak students and take it as a challenge to help them achieve their true potential. I consider this as my true service to the nation.

Q2.Today, you have owned two premium institutes in the likes of Vidwan Classes & Cohen International School, how did you make it possible single handedly?

God has been very kind to me and has blessed me with a dedicated team, who implemented my vision. I had a very humble beginning but I had great passion and dedication towards education. I started my venture, Vidwan Classes at a small garage and slowly built my enterprise with my team. I observed the passion for pure science amongst several students during this time. This fuelled my interest to start a school that had a holistic approach. Cohen International school is not just a school, but rather a center of excellence, where we inspire kids to innovate, experiment and create at a very early age. Early grooming is extremely important. At CIS, we have established a CoE for Aerospace Engineering and developed its curriculum as well. CIS is the first school in eastern India to start a CoE in Aerospace Engineering. The success of my ventures is due to the hard-work and dedication of my team. Together, we could make our dreams into reality.

Q3.Coming back to the  modern days schooling, Children are showing more interest on digital platforms rather than the most reliable pattern of text books historically, therefore how do you take up & inculcate teaching styles at the Cohen International School?

Agree that digital platform is useful but it is no substitute for time-tested methods of classroom teaching. Every child has a unique potential. In order to groom this inner potential of the kids, in-class teaching is the most effective. At CIS, we implement a nice blend of white-board and digital teaching. We implement specially designed software for teaching that promotes interactive quizzes, key learning outcomes and much more. The ambience created is one of its kind at CIS. We have specialized classrooms to encourage innovation and creativity.

Q4.You have always believed in staying in grounded & humble in spite of having a top-notch successful life, what’s your core principle of living style?

“Vidya Dadati Vinayam”. I believe in simple living and giving back to the society through education.

Q5.One final question, what sort of progress you want to see in the days to  come if Odisha could become the hub of education Nationally?

Under the able guidance of our Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Naveen Patnaik, Odisha is already an education hub. My aim is make our education more technologically developed and spread awareness amongst parents and students both in cities and villages.
