Prof. Sunita Mishra from Odisha appointed VC of MS University in Rajasthan

On Friday, renowned educator Prof. Sunita Mishra, who is from Puri in Odisha, was named vice chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Rajasthan. Governor of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra, who also serves as Chancellor of Universities, has named Prof. Mishra, who formerly served as Dean of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow, to the position of Vice Chancellor of MLSU. She has been a professor for almost 32 years, has outstanding academic qualifications, and served as professor and dean for over 15 years. Mishra is the author of 23 publications, has helped supervise 20 doctoral theses, and holds two food technology patents.

She has received several honors, including the 2008 Nobel Prize in America. She has also written more than 400 reputable research articles and served as chair of numerous UGC and NAAC committees during the past ten years. She has a close connection to the United Nations’ World Food Programme in India. Before entering Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and afterwards Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University in Lucknow, Prof. Mishra worked for a considerable amount of time as a lecturer at Berhampur Government Women’s College and SB Women’s College, Cuttack in Odisha between 1991 and 1997.

Prof. Mishra is the spouse of IPS officer Satya Narayan Sabat and a graduate of Shailabala Women’s College in Cuttack and Rama Devi Women’s University in Bhubaneswar. Her parents were erstwhile IAS officers Sachidanand Mishra and Shantilata Mishra.
