At the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022, Runaya, India’s first sustainability solutions company focused on the mining sector, launched a new range of products under the brand names RubiQ and RucaL Green designed to enable Green manufacturing for the Indian steel industry. These products are certified to consume only about 10% of the carbon that many other products on the market consume. Both RubiQ and RucaL Green are used in steel production as steel slag conditioners. The advantages include reduced process time, improved finished goods quality, and less corrosion of plant equipment.
The new RubiQ and RucaL product lines will be used in steel slag conditioning, specifically to maintain basicity and achieve desulphurisation, thereby improving alloy recovery. To achieve the desired result, the previous process required the procurement, handling, and timely addition of several different products. The primary components of these Runaya briquettes are Alumina, metallic aluminum, and other active aluminium compounds. Runaya briquettes are already being used by the largest steel companies in Odisha and around the world, and their use is increasing as the industry strives for carbon neutrality.
Annanya Agarwal, Co-founder of Runaya, stated at the launch event, “My heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable CM of Odisha and his team, especially IPICOL and the State Pollution Control Board, not only for hosting this fantastic conclave, but also for supporting start-ups like Runaya to be able to operate, grow, and revolutionise the resources sector.” Runaya is proud to call Odisha home, and we are committed to processing and recycling more waste each year. We are launching our new products, RubiQ and RucaL Green, today to help the steel industry improve its sustainability performance. This product is intended to increase productivity for steel manufacturers while using Green Technology. We are very excited to continue providing solutions for businesses looking to grow.
