On Monday, Manoj Ahuja, the chief secretary of Odisha, met with a team headed by Suresh Natarajan, the chief executive officer of the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) & Education Services (ITEES), Singapore, at Lokseva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Because of the growing need for skilled workers in the semiconductor and related fields in Odisha and throughout the nation due to the expanding semiconductor industry and its crucial role in enabling emerging technologies, the meeting focused on the IT-ITeS sector and the proposal for semiconductor training.
This meeting took place after the Indian Prime Minister visited Singapore and spoke with interns from the World Skill Center about their exposure to other countries for skill development. The Odisha Chief Minister, the Minister of Skill Development & Technical Education Department, and the Odisha Chief Secretary then recently visited Singapore.
The development of a competent workforce in this industry has become a major priority as a result of the Odisha government’s strategic focus on promoting industrial growth and establishing the state as a center for innovative manufacturing. This is in line with the larger goal of building a strong ecosystem under the “Skilled in Odisha” campaign, which aims to satisfy the talent needs of high-tech enterprises. Odisha is positioned to become a major participant in the semiconductor value chain and help the country become more self-reliant in this vital area by funding specialized training programs and establishing business alliances.
