Subhadra Yojana Applicants Warned Against Falling Prey To Scammers

The Woman and Child Development Department issued a warning to the public not to fall for con artists or scammers who are purporting to make fictitious calls and request that people click on websites in order to receive financial aid through the state of Odisha’s popular Subhadra program. Reports state that scammers have recently surfaced in cases where they purport to be bank or government agents and beg victims to click on links or divulge personal information.

The Department of Women and Child Development has confirmed that neither the government nor banks are sending any such calls or links. The department has cautioned the public not to answer such calls or click on dubious links. It is important to note that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to unveil the Subhadra project tomorrow. On the same day, recipients will receive the first installment of financial aid. The government is testing the transfer of Re 1 to beneficiaries’ bank accounts in order to guarantee transparency.

It is urged that citizens maintain their vigilance and promptly report any suspicious activity to the authorities. It is important to note that the Subhadra Yojana is a groundbreaking program designed to support women’s holistic development. All qualified women would receive Rs 50,000 under the women-centric initiative, payable in two instalments over a five-year period at the rate of Rs 10,000 annually. On Raksha Bandhan Day and International Women’s Day, respectively, the first and second instalments are issued annually.

In an effort to increase women’s access to digital financial literacy, 100 women from each Gram Panchayat and Municipal area will be rewarded with an extra Rs 500, which will be sent straight into their bank accounts.
