The Angul facility will become India’s largest single-location steel factory thanks to JSP: MD

According to Bimlendra Jha, the managing director of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), the company intends to make its Angul operation the country’s largest single-location steel manufacturing facility.According to Jha, the Odisha plant’s capacity is now being increased from the current 5.6 million tonnes per year (MTPA) to 11.6 MTPA.”We are more than doubling the capacity in Angul by next year…we have ambitions to further double it up to 24 MTPA, making it India’s largest single-location steel plant,” the managing director said without providing a timeframe for the proposal.
According to a statement from the firm, the steel plant in Raigarh would also be expanded from its existing capacity of 3.6 MTPA to up to 9.6 MTPA.

The 1 MTPA Rail Mill at the Raigarh Steel Plant produces structural steel and steel plates for a variety of uses.The 5-meter-wide plates produced by the Angul steel facility, a 1.4 MTPA rebar mill, are renowned.He noted that the current demand growth rate is between 8% and 10%.”Now is the ideal time to make investments in the domestic steel industry. The entire world is watching India as a potential ally against China. Furthermore, programmes like PLI “are opening up markets for special grades of steel in terms of both production and consumption,” according to Jha.
