27 Years Odia Pua commits suicide in Bahrain Labor Camp

Jitu Swain, a young Odia worker and son of Shri Daka Swain (27-Year-Old) village Kandigan, ODISHA was working with SHAMS ALMANAR BLACKSMITH in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Jitu committed suicide in the labor camp accommodation where he was residing in Salmabad.

According to the owner, 5 people stayed in that labor accommodation room, and as soon as 4 of them went on their works he was alone that morning, and then he hanged himself to the ceiling fan of the room.

His relative Prabhat also lives in Bahrain, and he then informed the Bahrain Odia Samaj Founder Chairman Dr Arun Kumar Praharaj about the incident and Dr Praharaj is following up with the higher authorities of Police, the Indian Embassy, and the Employer to complete the investigations and to send the Mortal Remains to India.

Prabhat said ‘’ he was mentally disturbed because of the poor financial condition and probably due to stress he committed this suicide.’’
Dr Praharaj has been actively following the case still the police are on the spot and conducting a thorough investigation, the final outcome is yet to come from the investigating officer and the body is yet to be sent to the hospital for postmortem and death certificate.

Dr Praharaj expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and said it’s a very unfortunate incident that we lost one of our Odia worker brothers and we must take preventive measures and proper counseling to stop such cases though it’s rare in the Odia community. May Mahaprabhu Jagannath bless the departed soul and give strength to the family to overcome this grief. He said he would arrange to send the body soon and would do everything possible for the family.
