In the Bihar Assembly, the NDA has 128 MLAs compared to the Grand Alliance’s 115. 122 MLAs are required for an alliance to secure the majority threshold.Three MLAs from the ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) party in Bihar have once again missed the important assembly that was held in Patna on Sunday night, which is concerning for the party. On Monday, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will go to the floor. Earlier on Saturday, six MLAs had declined to attend the luncheon meeting at Minister Shravan Kumar’s home.
With 243 members in the Bihar assembly, the JD (U) has 45 MLAs, the BJP has 79, its coalition partner Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) has four, and the NDA, with the backing of one independent, has 128 MLAs compared to 115 for the Grand coalition (GA). 122 MLAs are required for an alliance to secure the majority threshold.Among the JD-U MLAs who did not attend the meeting were Sudarshan Kumar of Barbigha, Rupauli MLA and former minister Bima Bharti, and Sursand MLA Dilip Ray, who was previously affiliated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Minister for JD (U) Vijay Kumar Chowdhary, however, played down the absence of three MLAs, claiming that they had already notified the party of their plans to miss this meeting. “We will undoubtedly demonstrate our majority. Despite not showing up, two or three MLAs notified the party. By sunrise, they would all be here. We will demonstrate that our (NDA) strength is 128,” Chowdhary said reporters.”With easy, we shall obtain the majority. According to Chowdhary, the CM assured the meeting, “There is no need to worry.” Over ninety minutes passed throughout the meeting.
