652 Civilians Killed in Ukrainian Strikes on Russian Border

In a tragic escalation of the ongoing conflict, nearly 3,000 people have been wounded and around 23 children are among those killed in recent Ukrainian strikes along the Russian border. The casualties were confirmed by Alexander Bastrykin, the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee, in a statement to TASS. The victims are part of a larger toll that highlights the devastating impact of the war, now entering its third year since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. While both Russia and Ukraine have repeatedly denied deliberately targeting civilians, the rising death toll, including a significant number of children, underscores the heavy human cost of the conflict.

The war, which has caused widespread destruction and displaced millions, continues to claim the lives of innocent civilians on both sides of the border. Despite international calls for peace, the brutal exchange of fire between the two nations shows no sign of abating. The majority of civilian casualties have been Ukrainian, but the recent attacks on Russian territory further exacerbate the ongoing humanitarian crisis. As the war drags on, the death toll continues to climb, leaving a trail of devastation and grief across the region.
