The current situation of the evacuation process in the Afghanistan capital- Kabul is deteriorating day by day as seven more people have reportedly died while trying to flee Kabul on August 22.
According to reports, at least 20 people have lost their lives over the past week in and around Kabul airport amidst the hurried and distressed evacuation process being carried out by several countries. The British military stated that seven Afghan civilians died in the chaos and stampede outside the Hamid Karzai International airport.
The report further added that a Ministry of Defence spokesperson stated that their sincere thoughts are with the families of the seven Afghan civilians who died recently in crowds in Kabul. The conditions on the ground remain extremely challenging but they are doing everything they can to manage the situation as safely and securely as possible.
Further US President Joe Biden has set an August 31 evacuation deadline. While the UK pledged complete support to the US if the Biden administration extends the deadline for the complete withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
