94.48 Lakh Electors In Odisha To Exercise Franchise On May 25

On May 25, voters in the 42 assembly segments and the six parliamentary constituencies of Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, and Bhubaneswar—a total of 94.48 lakh—will cast ballots. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal revealed at a news conference held here today that of the 94.48 lakh voters, 48.30 lakh are men, 46.18 are women, and 1,291 belong to the third gender.

According to Dhal, there are 10,551 polling places, of which 2000 are model polling places, 1500 are manned by women, and 30 are staffed by people with disabilities (PwD). The CEO went on to say that at this stage of the State’s elections, up to 121 CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) companies will be deployed.

“We have taken all steps to ensure that polls are conducted peacefully.

The CAPF will be installed at over two thousand important voting locations. Roughly 20% of polling places are considered essential. Up to 121 CAPF enterprises would be put into service, the CEO announced. On Saturday, more than 70,000 poll workers will be put to work. Dhal asked people to cast their ballots in huge numbers in urban regions such as Puri, Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar.
