On Saturday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his gratitude to the members and staff of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for their major contributions and 75 years of dedicated service to the state. The chief minister stated that OPSC was established in accordance with the Indian Constitution and has a mission to carry out recruitment for appointments to positions in the state, speaking at the recruiting agency’s 75th anniversary.
“The journey of Odisha Public Service Commission in the last 75 years has been remarkable. Thousands of men and women selected by the commission in different fields of public administration have made stellar contributions to the all-round development of the state,” the chief minister said.
He said that in recent years, the commission has developed the capacity to carry out a great deal of recruiting efforts more quickly. It has kept a high degree of openness by utilizing technology and adhering to industry best practices in the hiring process. Naveen stated, “I commend the commission and its personnel for their efforts in reducing the backlog in hiring and upholding the yearly hiring calendar.
“My government has always been keen to strengthen this institution. A new annexe building of the commission is under construction at a cost of `14 crore to meet its infrastructure needs. Besides, the cadre restructuring of the OPSC is under active consideration of the government,” he said. The chief minister hoped the commission would continue to contribute to building a prosperous and strong Odisha.
