Odisha Chapter of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is pleased to announce the start of the IIA Leadership Conclave & Design Carnival 2023, a two-day event with the subject “Samarth – Empowering Architecture.” This distinguished event’s opening day featured an impressive roster of speakers, dignitaries, technical workshops, panel discussions, contests, cultural activities, and an enthralling musical evening.
As the event’s chief guest, Anu Garg, Development Commissioner and ACS, was present. As the Guest of Honor, Ar. Villas Avachat, President, IIA, elevated the setting. Along with other distinguished members of the architectural and design communities, the event was also attended by Ar. Swopnadutta Mohanty, Chairman, IIA Odisha Chapter; Ar. Akshay Ku. Beuria, Secretary, IIA; Ar. Mousumi Nanda, Vice Chairman, IIA Odisha Chapter.
The warm welcome speech was given by Ar. Swopnadutta Mohanty, Chairperson, IIA Odisha Chapter, and it served as the preamble to a day full of insightful interactions and conversations. There were two interesting technical seminars on the first day. The master architect Ar. Sanjay Mohe presided over the first inaugural session, while Ar. Murali Murugan, one of the foremost architects, oversaw the second technical session. These discussions gave us useful information on how architecture and design would develop in the future.
Add Er. JK Das, Managing Director, OBCC, Ar. Girdher Agarwal, eminent Architect, LP Pattnaik, eminent tour planner, Sujeet Bakul, Member of Bakul Foundation, Shiva Mohanty, Editor, New Indian Express, and Ar. Sangram Mohanty, Senior Architect were among the panelists on a stimulating panel discussion that added depth to the proceedings. They discussed a range of topics, including sustainability, urban planning, and architecture.
