Bhabani Shankar Chayani, the collector from Cuttack, was named as the Director, Higher Education by the Odisha government on Thursday. In place of Chayani as Cuttack’s collector and district magistrate will be Narahari Sethy, who was the director of higher education.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 20(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act ll of 1974), the State Government do hereby appoint Shri Narahari Sethy, OAS(SAG) as the District Magistrate in the district of Cuttack,” stated a notification released by the General Administration Department of the Government of Odisha.
It is important to note that the state administration recently undertook a significant restructuring of the OAS cadre in order to update the photo electoral record.
