Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC) today signed an agreement with the Home Department for a Rs 1000 crore turnover in 2023-024. On Tuesday, OPHWC signed an MOU with the Home Department in a simple ceremony at Lokseva Bhawan’s conference hall. The MoU was signed by Deoranjan Kumar Singh, ACS Home Department, and Sanjeeb Panda, CMD OPHWC.
According to the MOU, OPHWC will have a turnover of 1000 crore in the current fiscal year 023-24. The Corporation’s revenue increased by 42% from 370 crore in 2021-22 to 532 crore in 2022-23. The Corporation has set an ambitious goal of nearly doubling its revenue in the current fiscal year. The Corporation is a profit-making Silver-rated Odisha Government Company that pays a dividend to the government every year.
The Corporation works on various construction projects for the police, fire, prisons, and judiciary. It is the sole executor for all universities under the Higher Education Department. It recently completed 43 district and block level bus stops for the Transport Department as part of the Ama Bus Stand scheme. The Corporation has begun construction on the Trainees Hostel at Gopabandhu Academy, which will be the state’s first IGBC Platinum-rated building.
The Corporation is also constructing the Modern Jail at Jamujhari Bhubaneswar for Rs 330 crore. The Corporation has taken up the construction fo the prestigious Biswanath Library in Cuttack for 30 crore.
