The Odisha government has made the decision to enable air travel for the first time between Steel City Rourkela and City of Joy Kolkata.
As a result, the trip will take only one hour and thirty minutes. The state government will provide viability gap funding for 35 seats of the capacity on the Rourkela-Kolkata route, which will be sponsored by the state and have a fare cap.
Alliance Air will operate this route on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays three times a week. The Sundargarh District’s industry and tourism sector will benefit from this. The Odisha people are the focus of the service. The first-ever one-way ticket goes on sale in 1999.
