Odisha Govt Restructures OAMS Cadre With Corresponding Pay Revision

In a noteworthy move aimed at drawing and keeping top-notch Ayurvedic physicians in the provision of healthcare services, the State government reorganized the Odisha Ayurvedic Medical Service (OAMS) cadre and adjusted salaries accordingly. The new arrangement increased the total cadre strength to 728, with 462 posts at the base level.

In a notification to that effect, Secretary Shalini Pandit of Health and Family Welfare stated that, in accordance with ORSP Rules, there would be 228 positions at the first promotional hierarchy in the level-12 pay matrix. Under ORSP Rules, there would be 35 positions at the second level of the promotional hierarchy in the Level-12 pay matrix. There would be two additional Deputy Directors at pay level-13.

The position of Joint Director, at pay level 14, would be the fourth in the cadre’s promotional hierarchy. Joint director (01), Deputy director (02), DAMO / Dy. Superintendent / CMO (35), Senior AMO (228), and AMO-462 would be the positions that would be included in the revised cadre. The OAMS cadre officers commended the State Government for the action and praised the resolution.
