Through a video conference on Thursday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik officially launched the “Transformed Odisha Through Folk Art” Campaign. Through state folk artists, the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) program will be carried out. People will hear about Odisha’s transformation and its message of progress. The public can become partners in development programs, participate in government initiatives, and learn about various developmental schemes in this way.
During this campaign, over two lakh programs will be run in all 51,168 villages for a duration of one month. In the state, 22,000 folk artist groups have registered for this purpose. The Chief Minister complimented the folk artists in his remarks on the occasion. He said the folk artists we have here are doing a great job.
You are conveying to the populace the government’s various welfare programs. As a result, our folk art is becoming more respected, and our artists are getting paid,” he continued.
He continued by saying that his government is committed to the advancement of artists and the arts, citing the fact that they are empowering thousands of people in the state. The Chief Minister added that an artist association was established by the state government in 2010 to promote our artists and arts. He disclosed that this project was initially launched in the Ganjam district and that it is currently being carried out in every district and every block.
He declared that our state’s artists’ association is the only one of its kind in the world and that, with their help, the association is currently progressing. He expressed his joy that thousands of artists are participating in information, education, and communication initiatives and promised to further strengthen all artists’ unions, including Mission Shakti. He announced that the state will host over two lakh awareness programs. For this, he congratulated all the folk musicians.
