9 Bangladeshi nationals are detained by police as they enter the Puri Jagannath Temple

Nine non-Hindus were taken into custody by the Singhadwar police in the Puri district of Odisha on Sunday as they were visiting the Jagannath temple.

All nine of the individuals are said to be from Bangladesh and were lodged at a hotel in Puri Town.

Four of the nine allegedly went inside the 12th-century sanctuary, while the other five were discovered outside, according to accounts.
