In a pivotal meeting held at Kharavel Bhawan on Monday, Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra reviewed the work of the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB). The OSHB’s present state, future goals, and several programs were all covered in the conference.
Reports state that the OSHB operates in 21 districts of Odisha, with major hubs in Rourkela and Bhubaneswar. To date, the board has constructed 32,343 plots and homes. About 20,000 homes have been constructed in Bhubaneswar in neighborhoods like Louis Road, Bhimtangi, Baramunda, Maitri Vihar, Sailashree Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, VSS Nagar, Satya Nagar, and Patia. Current projects being managed by the debt-free OSHB are the Angul Enclave in Angul, the Subas Enclave in Bhubaneswar, and the Kharavel Enclave in Bharavel. In addition, a plot is being carried out at Bhubaneswar’s Jagannath Prasad.
In metropolitan locations around the state, the OSHB hopes to give 50,000 plots and homes. In each district, an additional 1,000 homes will be constructed. In Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Cuttack, among other districts, the board intends to purchase about 520 acres of land. The Minister gave the officials the order to remove the encroachments right away after they were brought up in the meeting regarding encroachment issues in OSHB project sites. Along with Chief Engineer L.P. Mohapatra, Secretary Rashmita Tarasia, Finance Advisor Minati Pati, and OSHB MD Sagarika Pattanaik, there were additional attendees during the conference.
