The Ministry of External Affairs declared on Wednesday that Arun Kumar Sahu, a senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from Deogarh, Odisha, has been named India’s next ambassador to Bulgaria. According to the Ministry, Sahu, an IFS officer from the 1996 batch, is anticipated to start his new position shortly. Since September 2022, he has been employed with the Ministry of External Affairs as Additional Secretary (Central Europe). He had previously served as India’s High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago.
Sahu, a graduate of the esteemed Ravenshaw College, has master’s degrees in linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and war in the modern world from King’s College London. He finished his education at Chandra Sekhar Behera Zilla School in Sambalpur and Ravenshaw Collegiate School in Cuttack.
