Vadodara Crash Victim: Accused Was Overspeeding for ‘Enjoyment

A man injured in a horrific car crash in Vadodara has claimed that the accused, a law student, was overspeeding for “enjoyment” when he rammed into multiple vehicles in the early hours of Friday. The accident left one person dead and several others injured.

The victim, Vikas Kewalani, stated that he had gone out for refreshments with two people from his society. One of them, Hemali Patel, tragically lost her life, while her husband remains in critical condition. Kewalani and three others are currently undergoing treatment for their injuries.

“We were on our two-wheeler when an overspeeding car suddenly rammed into us. I was conscious after falling and saw the car hitting another vehicle, sending it flying through the air. Hemali and her husband sustained severe injuries,” Kewalani told ANI.

He further alleged that the accused, Rakshit Chaurasiya, appeared intoxicated at the time of the crash. “This cannot be controlled by just imposing fines. Strict punishment is necessary. My brother and sister have fractures, and I have a broken elbow. The accused was speeding for enjoyment,” he said.

The incident has raised concerns over reckless driving and the need for stricter penalties to prevent such tragedies.
