Feminism is a social movement of change. The Suffragette Movement began in the nineteenth century, to give women voting rights. Only men had voting rights previously. Women were not allowed to vote, because they were considered to be second sex. Individuals belonging to the second sex are deprived of certain rights throughout life. The battle for rights regarding votes was finally over in the twentieth century. The allocation of devices in public transport was segregated clearly as well, but at a later point of time. There were seats for men only. Women had to adjust according to the situation.
Feminism is now a controversial term. It is considered to hurt and demean men. But, in the truest sense of the word, it is in existence just to empower women. Empowered women contribute to the creation of a safer society, thus ensuring that the future is indeed in safe hands. An empowered mother raises an empowered child, who in turn inculcates an empowered society. The purification of the society is truly essential for a brighter future. Erasing past mistakes and rectifying things gone wrong is always fine. Things can be fixed always, before it’s too late, and its fine.
