Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine- Bharat Biotech’s COVAXIN at the AIIMS and requested all the eligible to get their vaccine as soon as possible.
Sister P Niveda, from Puducherry, administered Bharat Biotech’s COVAXIN to the prime minister and he also tweeted by quoting – “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!.”
With the quote, PM Modi also shared a picture of himself taking the first dose of the vaccine in which he is witnessed Assamese gamocha and getting vaccinated. Along with him, sister P Niveda, from Puducherry, and a second nurse from Kerala can be also seen in that picture.

As per the reports, there were no such arrangements of the route on the roads where the Prime Minister went to AIIMS. He went at the early hour of the morning to ensure that there will be no incontinence to the people.
The Government had already announced those citizens who are above 60 years of age and those over 45 years with comorbidities will be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine from March 1 for free at government facilities and for a charge at many private hospitals. The eligible citizens will be able to register and book an appointment for the vaccine at any time by using the Co-WIN 2.0 portal or through other IT applications such as Aarogya Setu.
With the mobile number, a person can register as many as four beneficiaries. However, all those registered on one mobile number will have nothing in common except the mobile number. The photo ID card number for each such beneficiary must be different. Either of the following photo identity documents can be used by citizens for availing of online registration — Aadhaar Card/Letter, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC), passport, driving license, PAN Card, NPR Smart Card, or Pension Document with the photograph.
