Prominent football coach Nanda Kishore Patnaik passed away May 31st while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here for Covid-19.
According to the report, Nanda Kishore Patnaik has created several women players at the National and International level. He tested positive for the Coronavirus on May 12 and later was admitted to Baripda Covid hospital.
After his condition started deteriorating he was then shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for better treatment. His oxygen level continued to fall due to widespread inflammations and infections in the lungs. Despite all efforts of doctors, he succumbed to the deadly virus.
The report further added that senior administrative officers and noted sports persons were directly monitoring his health condition and extended all help to save the precious life of the noted sports coach.

National level player Ranjita Mohanty, who was one of the students of Patnaik stated that he was a pioneer in building new talents and was a huge inspiration for budding players. “I can’t express my sorrows and grief after hearing the tragic news. He had played a most pivotal role in building my career as a football player,” he added.
Ranjita Mohanty further added that Nanda Kishore Patnaik had sacrificed his entire life for football. He was so devoted to the sports that he had sometimes forgotten his personal life and family.
