The central team will visit Kendrapara on Tuesday to access the aftermath of the cyclone Yaas. It is scheduled to visit the worst-hit Rajnagar and Rajakanika blocks of Kendrapara districts. The central team will leave Chandbali on Tuesday and reach Rajnagar at 11 am.
The district administration will inform the team through video clips of the damage caused by the cyclone. However, district commissioner Amrit Rituraj said the district was affected by torrential rains during the cyclone. The population of Kendrapara district is about 1.5 million. However, four houses were destroyed in the cyclone, while vegetables and crops were severely damaged.
On Monday, the central team visited the affected areas of Bhadrak and Baleswar districts. Led by Union Agriculture Ministry Director Bipul Kumar Srivastava, Finance Ministry Co-Director Suraj Kumar Pradhan, Executive Engineer of Roads and National Highways Department Shaswat Mohapatra visited Bhadrak while another team was present at the meeting. Executive Engineer Sisir Pradhan and Technical Officer of the Fisheries Department Digambar Swain visited the affected areas of Baleswar district.
