Today is an important meeting of the state cabinet. The meeting will be chaired by the Chief Minister. It is learned that the Chief Minister will attend the meeting via video conference from Naveen Niwas. The cabinet meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday.
The cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, is likely to approve more than 10 proposals. It includes important proposals from the Odisha Administrative Service, the OAS officer’s ‘cadre’ restructuring, as well as the Department of Public Works, the Department of Urban Development, the Department of Mass Education and the Department of Health. For a long time, however, there has been a demand from the OAS to restructure the cadre. The government may have sealed their claim. This will create 220 additional posts in that category. The phases of the appointment of senior OAS as Special Secretary, Additional Secretary to the Government, Joint Secretary and Deputy Secretary will pave the way.
