WOMEN OUT OF BOUNDS

Right from the start society has been treating women as schizoid persons where they are just born to serve the men and his family. As a daughter right from the start, she serves her own family and at a certain age, she gets hitched to a guy where the rest of her life is meant to delineate by the deeds she has done to the family. According to Hindu mythology, there is a popular saying “KARYESHU DAASI, KARANESHU MANTRI BHOJYESHU MAATA, SHAYANESHU RAMBHA.” which portrays that a wife serves her husband as a maid or servant, she advises her husband as a minister, she feeds him as his mother and during seclusion, he takes her husband to ecstatic sexual pleasure as Rambha(the most beautiful and a courtesan in heaven).  The woman shrugs her family in all the corners of her heart and makes it her world.

Our elders say a woman should be under the guidance and protection of her father at her tender age, her husband till mid-age, and her son at old age.” Then where is she?”,” Where is her world?”,” is a girl born just for men?”,” can’t she build her empire where she is the ruler?”. The answer to this question is “YES”. We can say this confidently and proudly. Many women have substantiated that they are not just born to clean the house, tidy the utensils, wash clothes, cook meals, give birth, raise children, depend on a father or husband for a single penny. The 19th century is the era where women started to be independent.

Women stepped out of the house to study, work as typists, analysts, engineers, doctors, pilots, drivers, etc. And now there is no field where women’s involvement is absent. They have almost covered every sector and department of society. She is now able to manage to be a homemaker as well as a moneymaker. Let’s explore how women are determined to be independent and reach their heights. There are certain fields where society believes that only men can do and excel, like business, sports, engineering, etc. Let’s see one by one. Where women marked their ultimate presence and achieved the pinnacle of success in every field.

WOMEN IN ENGINEERING:  Elisa Leonida Zamfirescu is the first woman engineer to obtain an engineering degree and she stood as an inspiration to many women engineers. Margaret E Knight was the inventor of flat-bottomed paper bags and made improvements to rotary engines. Ellen Ochoa is the first woman to fly to space. Hedy Lamarr is the inverter of hopping frequency. Katherine Burr Blodget is the first woman to take a Ph.D. from Cambridge University. Priya Balasubrahmanyam is the vice president of iPhone apple. Nandini Ramani is the vice president of engineering Twitter. Anjali Joshi vice president of product management google. These women flaunted their success through hard work and determination and stood as an inspiration to many engineers not only women but also to men.

WOMEN IN SPORTS:  Primarily sports are meant to be for men but later women started to play and win. PV Sindhu, the badminton player, won the gold medal in the 2019 Olympics. Sania Mirza is a very famous tennis player who inspired many to take tennis as a career. In male dominating cricket, Harman Preet Kaur iS the first women cricket player in India who scored a century in the WT20I championship. Here the list is endless.

I conclude that a woman can do anything in her life if she has been given enough resources, encouragement, and freedom to dream about her future and mold it.
