There is nothing going right between BCCI and Star player Virat Kohli. There is contrast statements and that too made in public which is demeaning both BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and Indian red ball skipper Virat Kohli. The rift started when Virat decided to quit T20 captaincy. Then matters became worst when Virat was removed from ODI Captaincy. While BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is speaking on requesting Virat Kohli not to move from T20 captaincy and they had discussed with Virat about ODI captaincy shift to Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli in a press conference denied every statement publically. There is dirt all around BCCI and Virat Kohli who are throwing dirty games on one another.
Ganguly had said that he personally spoke to Kohli when he was deciding to step down as the T20I captain and urged him to carry on with the job but the star cricketer refused to continue. Kohli however, claimed on Wednesday that no such conversation took place between him and any official of the board which has now led to a furore and confusion in the Indian cricketing fraternity.
Ganguly, when asked about Kohli’s comments, refused to speak on the controversy after being hounded by reporters. “I have got nothing to say. We will deal with it, leave it to the BCCI,” the former India captain said.
The top brass of the BCCI is not in agreement with Kohli’s claims and is in a huddle to come up with a response strategy, as per the reports. It seems matter is going from bad to worse and we might see some shocking decisions in very near future from either BCCI or Virat. Hope everything is resolved and Indian Cricket is focused and given priority.
