In a heavy battle of weapons and guns at least 6 maoists have been killed on Monday in Odisha. There was a heavy battle between the armed forces of the region and the maoists. There were 4 women among the 6 people who were killed.
The battle between the Left-wing extremists and the security armed forces took places on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border near Malkangiri. Police said the gun-battle between Greyhound jawans, led by the Kothagudem SP, lasted over two hours.

Acting on Intelligence inputs that Maoists had set up camps in the nearby jungles, a combing operation was launched by the security forces.
After the security forces surrounded them, the Maoists opened fire, sources said. Six Maoists were killed in retaliatory firing by the security forces. Police said Maoist literature was seized from the spot.
