Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for the expansion of Odisha Bhawan in Mumbai. The Odisha Bhawan located in Mumbai has been catering to the accommodation needs of government officials and the public visiting Mumbai for different work at the metro at affordable prices.
As per to the official press release, the facility has 28 air-conditioned rooms and four air-conditioned dormitories. Out of these 16 double-bed, air-conditioned rooms and 2 air-conditioned dormitories have been earmarked for people from Odisha visiting Mumbai for treatment of cancer. Patients from Odisha especially those belonging to the economically weaker section are benefitting from accommodation provided by the government at affordable rates.
There was a longstanding persistent demand from the public in Odisha and various Odia organisations in Mumbai for making arrangements for more rooms for patients at the Odisha Bhawan in Mumbai. Honouring their demand the Chief Minister today laid the foundation stone for the expansion of Odisha Bhawan in Mumbai.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary to CM(5T) VK Pandian, officials of the Works Department and IDCO and office-bearers of various Mumbai-based Odia organisations were present on the occasion.
