After Indian batsman Virat Kohli tweeted a video of someone entering his room while he was away, the Crown Towers Hotel in Perth issued an apology. In a statement, the hotel said: “We unreservedly apologise to the guest involved and will continue to take the required procedures to ensure this stays an isolated incident,” as reported by Cricinfo.

The original video was promptly taken down from the social media network, they added, and the persons responsible have been removed from the Crown account. The hotel stated that it was looking into the matter and will take steps to prevent similar violations in the future. In order to express our regrets, we are also cooperating with the Indian Cricket Team and the International Cricket Council. We will keep collaborating with them as the investigation moves forward, they added.
Kohli had posted a video on his Instagram account earlier in the day that showed someone looking about his room. The film displayed Kohli’s clothing, footwear, hats, cricket gear, and India shirt.Kohli captioned his post with: “I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy.”
“Where can I truly expect any personal space at all if I can’t even have privacy in my own hotel room? Added he. “This kind of fanaticism and blatant breach of privacy is NOT acceptable to me. Do not use people as a commodity for amusement; rather, respect their right to privacy.
