This time, Eco Retreat Odisha has expanded its base to seven gorgeous places in Odisha: Konark, Putsil, Sonarpur, Daringbadi, Bhitarkanika, Satkosia, and Hirakud. A total of roughly 220 luxury tents are available here, making for an unrivalled glamping experience.
KONARK
This glam camp provides mesmerising views of the spectacular Bay of Bengal and is located on the idyllic Ramchandi Beach. This location is perfect for thrill-seekers who want to go parasailing and indulge in other water sports, ATV rides, beach volleyball, archery, and many other activities. It is imperative to see the Konark Sun Temple, Konark Museum, and Balukhand Sanctuary. A trip to Puri’s Golden Beach, which was just re-designated as a Blue Flag Beach, is also recommended. Visitors who are interested in art and crafts can go to Raghurajpur, a traditional crafts hamlet where each residence doubles as an art gallery.
BHITARKANIKA
Who wouldn’t want to get away from the monotony of a hectic life? The wetlands are home to the most different species of mangroves in India, as well as the most saltwater crocodiles on the Indian subcontinent, monitor lizards, eight different species of kingfishers, one of the largest heronries in India, and serves as a winter feeding place for migratory birds. Another option is to take a journey to the adjacent turtle sanctuary at Gahirmatha Beach, where the gorgeous Olive Ridley turtles come to nest each year, or one can go on a boat safari around the creeks of Bhitarkanika to see this exquisite wildlife. Water sports including jet skiing, banana boat rides, ATV beach rides, and other things are also available here.
DARINGBADI
The stunning valleys and plateaus surrounding Daringbadi Hill Station are breathtaking. This campsite is really picturesque, with pine trees, coffee, and pepper plantations all around. Visit Belghar, a region surrounded by lush mountains and known as the “land of Hills and Waterfalls,” Ushabati Valley to see large flocks of peacocks, Putudi Waterfall, and Mandasaru (also known as Silent Valley) for some peace and quiet in the middle of nature, or speak with the Kutia Kandha tribe who live there. Rifle shooting, archery, biking, yoga on the hills, and other leisure pursuits are all on the menu.
