Paid Blue Verification ticks available on Instagram

Facebook, the social network that was supposed to remain free “always,” and its stablemate Instagram launched a paid subscription service on Sunday in an effort to support the growth and community building of content creators. Users will be able to verify their accounts using a government ID and receive a blue badge. The programme will launch in Australia and New Zealand later this week, according to Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, who made the announcement in a Facebook post on Sunday.

Twitter, a microblogging service run by Elon Musk, was the first to provide paid account verification. For large organisations, Twitter has also introduced a new tool called “Twitter Verification” that adds a gold checkmark to their official corporate accounts. In December of last year, Twitter reintroduced its Blue subscription, which now costs $8 for Android users and $11 for iPhone owners globally every month.Twitter Inc. expanded its Blue service earlier this month to Indonesia, Brazil, and India. Twitter Blue is now accessible in 15 nations, among them the US, the UK, Canada, and Japan. With authentication, the microblogging website now charges Rs 650 per month on the web and Rs 900 for Android and iOS mobile devices.

According to the firm, a monthly subscription would cost $11.9 on the web or $14.99 on iOS and Android (or $19.99 on the web or $24.99 on iOS and Android in Australia).
