With at least 43 platoons of troops posted in and around the city, Sambalpur has become a fortress. According to Collector Ananya Das, the district government has implemented a curfew (until further instructions), but internet access has been suspended for an additional 48 hours. Das asked people to avoid rumors and to inform the government of any false or manufactured news being propagated in whatever manner while addressing the media on Saturday.
“All essential services, including district administration, police, fire, medical, and municipal, will operate during the curfew,” the collector declared. We’ll make a choice shortly because of the next test. She said that the number to call in case of medical emergency is 7655800760.
