Aryan Khan case: ‘Many lapses in probe, suspicious behaviour of officers,’ says NCB’s internal report

There were several anomalies in the narcotics investigation involving Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan on the Codrellia cruise, according to an internal assessment by the anti-drugs agency Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). In the same report, seven to eight NCB policemen were charged with “suspicious behavior.”

After Aryan Khan was given a pass in the drugs-on-cruise case, the recent disclosures deal the anti-drug organization a further blow to its reputation. After Aryan Khan was detained and imprisoned for more than three weeks related to the case, it made national news.

In April this year, the Narcotics Control Bureau suspended two of its probe officers, who were part of the team that investigated the drug bust on a cruiseliner which led to the arrest of Aryan Khan.

Earlier, NCB had set up an SIT to probe the impropriety on the part of its officer. The SIT has now forwarded its report to agency headquarters in Delhi, the report said citing officials.

The internal probe report by NCB found that there were many irregularities in the case. Citing sources, the report also said that questions were raised on the ‘intentions’ of the officers involved in the Aryan Khan case. As part of the probe, the agency recorded statements of 65 people. The probe also found several irregularities in other cases too.
