This is the narrative of Maya, as the book’s title implies. The protagonist of the entire story is Maya, a young lady with schizophrenia, a serious mental illness. Schizophrenia is a severe mental illness characterised by abnormal reality interpretation.
A combination of delusions, hallucinations, and severely aberrant thinking and conduct that hinders day-to-day functioning and may even be incapacitating are possible outcomes. The difficulties that sufferers of mental illnesses confront and how society views them are the main subjects of the book.The book’s strongest feature is the author’s attention to the difficulties faced by those with mental illnesses who depend on their loved ones for unwavering support and affection.
