In what comes as a relief for passengers travelling in AC coaches in Indian trains, the Railways have announced that they will soon resume the service of providing blankets and linen to passengers. The service had stopped when the COVID 19 pandemic was at its peak.
In an order issued to general managers of all railway zones, the Railway Board said the supply of these items will resume with immediate effect. The linen will include pillows, blankets, sheets and towels on a sealed cover.
Due to the spread of COVID 19, Railways banned the use of blankets and had ordered AC coaches to maintain temperatures of 24 to 25 degrees Celcius.
