While many people find completing a Rubik’s Cube challenging and skydiving terrifying, this 23-year-old from India mixed the two activities while plummeting 13,000 feet in an effort to break the world record for the quickest time to complete a spinning puzzle while in freefall. The attempt was conducted on April 14 in Thailand by Chinmay Prabhu, 23. Chinmay, a citizen of Mumbai, a city in western India, completed the task in 24.22 seconds, beating the target time of 30 seconds.Recently, Prabhu’s video of solving the Pyraminx has been making the rounds on social media sites and on the Guinness website under the title “Most Pyraminx (Rubik’s cube) solved underwater.” Chinmay is a self-taught cuber who honed his craft by watching tutorial videos on YouTube and applying common sense. According to sources, he has over 80 different kinds of cubes and has so far competed in 12 national cube tournaments.

Chinmay Prabhu’s assignment is all the more impressive because the Guinness had set a goal for him to solve four cubes, but he ended up solving nine. On March 15, 2019, Chinmay obtained a Guinness certificate, five months after completing the assignment. Prabhu’s accomplishment was also noted by World Records India before it entered the Guinness Book of World Records. His name was included into the Limca Book of Records back in 2017 for utilising his feet to solve a mirror cube. Practise makes one perfect ,thus Chinmay began training five months ago with the goal of entering the Guinness World Book of Records. According to sources, Prabhu could only hold his breath underwater for 30 to 35 seconds at first, but with unwavering effort, excitement, and determination, he was able to extend this time to one and a half minutes. Being an expert at cubing now, Prabhu has begun instructing people in this activity, with his youngest pupil being 4 years old.
