Eknath Shinde: ‘Balasaheb Thackeray Would Have Confronted Arvind Sawant for His Comments on Shaina NC’

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant for his derogatory comments about Shaina NC, asserting that if Balasaheb Thackeray were alive, he would have confronted Sawant. “It’s deeply unfortunate to speak ill of a woman, and such behavior is inexcusable. Those who claim to follow Balasaheb’s ideology reveal their true nature through their actions,” Shinde stated.

He continued, “If Balasaheb were here and a Shiv Sainik had acted this way, he would have faced severe consequences. Their behavior shows their character. The MVA has previously defamed our women and sisters in Guwahati, and in the upcoming elections, I’m confident that women will teach a lesson to those who disrespect them.”

Shinde emphasized that “the sisters of Maharashtra will ensure he knows his place and send him home. They will seek revenge against anyone who insults a sister.”In the lead-up to the Maharashtra assembly elections, Shiv Sena UBT leader Arvind Sawant ignited a significant controversy by allegedly referring to Shaina NC as “imported maal.” He remarked to reporters, “Look at her situation. She spent her entire life in the BJP and now has switched parties. Imported ‘maal’ doesn’t work here; only original ‘maal’ is valued.”

In response to his comments, Shaina NC filed a complaint, leading to a case being registered at the Nagpada Police Station against Sawant.
